ABOUT VIKING SPORTS FOUNDATION

Sport is more than just a game; it's a life lesson.
For kids, it teaches resilience, teamwork, and the value of hard work.

OUR MISSION
Viking Sports Foundation (VSF) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We are volunteers whose mission is to provide financial and other support for athletic programs in the Port Washington community. We advocate for our student-athletes, foster pride in their accomplishments, promote good sportsmanship, and heighten school spirit. We seek to build a stronger sense of community and to strengthen ties with our town youth sports programs. We work in partnership with the school board and administration, team coaches, and interested parents.

Viking Sports Foundation Annual Scholarship
Each year, the Viking Sports Foundation (VSF) is proud to award scholarships to graduating Paul D. Schreiber High School student-athletes who have made a meaningful impact both on and off the field.
The VSF Scholarship Program reflects our commitment to supporting Port Washington student-athletes and recognizing seniors who exemplify the values that are at the heart of our athletic community: commitment, sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, perseverance and Viking pride.
Scholarship Selection
Graduating senior student-athletes are all eligible to apply for a VSF Scholarship each spring. Applications are reviewed by the Viking Sports Foundation Scholarship Committee, with consideration given to the student's:
-
Participation and commitment to Port Washington athletics
-
Leadership, teamwork and sportsmanship
-
Character and contributions to their team and school community
-
Perseverance and dedication throughout their high school experience
-
Academic achievement and future goals
-
Personal statement submitted as part of the scholarship application
Scholarships are not awarded solely on athletic statistics or individual accolades. Our goal is to recognize student-athletes who represent what it means to be a Port Washington Viking and who have positively contributed to the culture of Port Washington Athletics.
Scholarship Awards
Each year, we strive to award two graduating senior student-athletes who are selected to receive a Viking Sports Foundation Scholarship. Recipients are recognized at the end of the school year, and scholarship funds are awarded to support their continued education.
The ability to provide these annual scholarships is made possible through the generosity of our VSF members, families, sponsors and the greater Port Washington community. Every membership, Family Field Banner, sponsorship and fundraising initiative helps VSF continue its mission of supporting our student-athletes, teams and athletic programs.
We are proud to celebrate our graduating Vikings and recognize the commitment they have made to their teams, their school and the Port Washington community.
Once a Viking, Always a Viking.
